Step By Step

So, from now on I'm going to write in English, so more people can understand it.

I have already written this in Estonian, but I'll do it once again in English:
I'm Elis, 16, from Estonia and in a few weeks I'm going to the US to participate in Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute at Purdue University, Indiana.

The BFTF is a four-week institute. There are 45 participants, who are 16-18 years old - 35 from European countries and 10 from the US.

My journey to become a BFTF fellow began in late February, when I submitted my application and teacher's recommendation and in a few weeks I was invited to an interview with the Franklin Fellowship panel and it went well, but I was still sure I wouldn't get the scholarship. So, after a few days I was on vacation with my family and in the morning I checked my e-mail. There was an e-mail from the embassy. I had to read the first lines over and over until the words "first principal candidate" finally hit me and I spent the next few minutes jumping around the hotel hallway and hugging my family.

I got my travel itinerary a few weeks ago and yesterday I went to my visa interview.
I'm flying from Tallinn to Frankfurt, from Frankfurt to Washington and from Washington to Indianapolis.

Only 23 days left!
